So for those of you who happened to read my last post, [and I know you have because I have the counter ( thank you Hillen)], I was just trying to show how much fun we had in the middle of a trial! Really people, let it go! Know that I am the eternal optimist and I try to look for the party in the midst of disaster. By the goodness of kind hearted friends and family, we found some fun!
My Dad always said, and I think this is from Ronald Reagan, too... "If you enter a room filled with manure, start diggin'. Why? Because with all that manure, there's gotta be a pony somewhere!"
So that brings up a question for you, my readers for whatever reason: what blessing did you find? Did you see character blossom, or recieve help from others? did you find a good meal or a hot shower because someone else was nice to you? let me know what you think, if you dare to find the good, if you dare to comment... :-)

I think that your blog was just fine...and I only wish that I could have seen the ill intended comments...I was also disappointed that I did not make the list for Thursday and Friday...for calling your cell phone at 8:00 am...
Keep up the good blogging...mean spirited commenter's only mean that you are doing a good job...Blogging is like art...it is created to illicit a response. Way to go...to the Chateau...that is...
I totally agree with hillenblog. We make a choice as we face situations - positive attitude or negative? You obviously chose positive, and good for you.
When we spent our "evacucation" in Springfield, I tried very hard to maintain a positive outlook for my boys' sake. There were times it was really tough not knowing how things were at home, but there were so many amazing and blessed things that came out of our time in Missouri - family stuff, time spent at HSBC, making new friends and deepening old friendships, appreciating the wonder of a new place while simultaneously appreciating home, just to name a few.
So props to you for realizing the blessings and the fun in a not-so-terrific event. You're a special kind!
Hey Teri! We are a little jealous of your ice storm (pretty crazy, huh). We have done some of those challenging times and love it. It makes for great memories. Unfortunately, or fortunately I was running in shorts one of those days here in North Carolina. For a runner that is definitely a blessing. I hate to be cold!
I felt bad saying we were in Sunny Florida during the storm but I really thought it was God's grace. I have always said I am NOT a pioneer woman! If we had to come across the prairie in a covered wagon we would have never made it without the modern day conveniences!!
